Kate Cat chased the last warm light of the season across the Kansas prairie, and fall did the rest.

Summary

Every great day outside starts with a slow morning. Before Kate ever stepped onto the prairie, she was at the villa with her hair wrapped up, sunglasses on, coffee within reach, and a magazine open on her lap. Even the warm-up was outdoors, palms swaying, water shimmering, not a single ceiling in sight.

Wish you were here this fall…

Sun-Kissed in Kansas

First, the Villa

☕ Before the shoot

Every great day outside starts with a slow morning. Before Kate ever stepped onto the prairie, she was at the villa with her hair wrapped up, sunglasses on, coffee within reach, and a magazine open on her lap. Even the warm-up was outdoors, palms swaying, water shimmering, not a single ceiling in sight.

Then she put the cup down and went looking for the sun.

Wind in her hair, sun on her face. Kansas said hello first, autumn style.

Somewhere out in Kansas, where the grass has gone gold and the sky is so big it feels like it’s showing off, Kate Cat kicked off her shoes and let one of the last warm afternoons of the year have her. No studio lights. No ring light. No backdrop guy yelling about the backdrop. Just one model, one photographer, a peach satin top with ruffles that clearly had places to be, and a low autumn sun that was more than willing to do the lighting for free.

This is what our Go Outside campaign is all about, and fall is the perfect excuse. Not a gym membership. Not a twelve-step plan. Just the radical, slightly forgotten act of stepping out the door and letting the world touch you back. Kate made it look easy. That’s because it is.

Kate, Sun-Kissed

🍂 Golden hour, part one

The palette wrote itself. Peach satin against prairie grass turned harvest gold, rust and toasted brown, all of it under that crisp, clear fall sky (no retouching, promise). Our photographer barely had to direct. Kate tilted her face up, closed her eyes, and let the warmth land. Every frame after that was basically the sun and Kate having a private conversation while we eavesdropped with a camera.

Kate, sun-kissed. Three ways.

The sun did hair, makeup, and lighting. We just showed up.

Skin Meets Sky

🍂 Golden hour, part two

There’s a reason cats find the one sunny spot on the floor and refuse to move. Warm light on bare shoulders is one of life’s great free pleasures, especially once the air starts getting that first little autumn bite, and Kate leaned all the way into it. Head back, breeze doing its thing, a ruffle slipping exactly where gravity wanted it to go.

Kate lets the sun touch her skin, and it feels good.

Nobody on set checked a phone for a solid hour. Not even for a pumpkin spice update. That might be the most impressive thing in this whole spread.

Same series, same sun-touched skin. Our photographer just kept snapping.

When the Sun Starts Leaving

🍁 Sunset

As the sun slid toward the horizon, the shoot got playful. Our photographer dropped low, down into the dried wildflowers and fall seed heads, and let Kate go soft in the background while the prairie took the foreground. Barefoot on sun-warmed Kansas dirt before the evening chill rolled in, looking off toward whatever the evening had planned, she looked like the whole point of going outside.

As the sun sets, we play with the camera and the angles, right where Kate’s skin and the sun meet.

Go outside before the leaves are gone.

From The Cat House Foundation

Go Outside. Mark Your Territory. is our invitation to step into open spaces, enjoy them fully, and leave them better. Every piece of trash picked up and every kind word passed along makes the world a little more comfortable for people and animals alike.

Out in the fields this time of year, small wildlife is busy fattening up and nesting down for winter, and they depend on those open spaces staying clean. When you head out, pack out what you bring in, keep pets close, and give the critters plenty of room. That’s how a cat marks territory the Cat House way.
